FAQ: 

Q:  The accelerometer does not function properly when the board is powered from the USB-BDM

A:  If the accelerometer fails to respond normally when powered from the USB-BDM, simply remove and reinstall the VDD_EN shunt.  This will power-cycle the accelerometer allowing the device to start-up normally.
